I, Dr. Aman Makhija did my graduation (MBBS) and post graduation(MD) in internal medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi and passed with honours (Gold medal). Thereafter I received training in cardiology (DM) at King George Medical University, Lucknow. I won the Cardiological Society of India TRAVEL AWARD for my thesis paper presentation in 2008 and the AV GANDHI AWARD for excellence in cardiology in 2009.

I joined as Associate cardiologist at Dharma Vira Heart Centre, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi in 2008. I received training in cardiac electrophysiology and Radiofrequency ablation under Dr Calambur Narsimhan at CARE hospitals Hyderabad in 2010. Presently I am working as Consultant cardiologist at Sir Ganga Ram hospital which is a 675-Beded multi-speciality tertiary care hospital in India.

Dharma Vira Heart centre is the super speciality cardiology institute of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital offering ICCU management, interventions in adult cardiology, pediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. We perform annually about 6000 cardiac cath lab procedures and 1000 open heart surgeries. Our hospital has one of the largest primary angioplasty programmes in the country.

I have expertise in adult coronary interventions - coronary Stenting(including complex bifurcation and Left main disease stenting), Rotablation, FFR and IVUS.I have performed more than 5000 diagnostic and therapeutic interventional coronary procedures as a primary operator and have an experience of 9 years after training.

I have proficiency and expertise in cardiac implantatable devices implantation (Pacemakers include biventricular pacemakers and ICD/CRTD). I am IBHRE certified CARDIAC DEVICE SPECIALIST. I have performed more than 500 cardiac device implantation as a primary operator. I am incharge of Device Clinic at our hospital where routine followup and troubleshooting of all cardiac device patients is performed.

I have good experience and expertise in radiofrequency ablation of tachyarrhythmias including PSVT and atrial flutter. I have also started complex radiofrequency ablation programme with 3D electroanatomic mapping in our hospital where we perform Ventricular tachycardia ablation (Idiopathic and Scar VT) and Atrial arrhythmias ablation including ablation of paroxysmal and persistent Atrial Fibrillation.

Ganga Ram Hospital also has a successful DNB training program in Cardiology. As a consultant cardiologist, I am actively involved in training of post graduates and fellows in cardiology (DNB).

I have authored seventeen publications in indexed national and international journals. I am a fellow of European Society of Cardiology, IBHRE certified CCDS and member of American College of cardiology , Asian Heart Rhythm society and Indian Heart Rhythm society. I attended an APHRS-HRS IMMERSION observership program for training in advanced electrophysiology at St Luke Medical centre, Milwaukee, USA.
